Enhance Infrastructure

My Plan to Enhance Infrastructure in the Kenai Peninsula Borough
As a conservative running for the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly, I’m committed to enhancing our infrastructure—roads, utilities, and public facilities—without raising taxes or expanding our budget. Our borough’s arteries keep families, businesses, and our lifestyle running, from the Sterling Highway to rural gravel tracks. The Assembly oversees a budget topping $100 million, and I’ll make sure we bolster what we’ve got with practical, cost-effective steps. Here’s how, grounded in efficiency and local needs.
Targeting Funds to High-Impact Fixes
We can’t fix every road at once, but we can hit the big wins first. I’ll push to redirect existing funds—moving cash from lower-priority projects to urgent repairs like potholes on busy routes or flood-prone stretches. No new money, just sharper focus. By zeroing in on high-traffic or safety choke points, we maximize every dollar to keep goods and people flowing.
Stretching Road Service Dollars
Our road service areas (RSAs) tax residents for local upkeep—let’s get more out of that. I’ll encourage our regions to share resources, like splitting equipment costs or buying items in bulk, trimming expenses without hiking rates. It’s about working smarter, not spending more, to keep rural and urban roads reliable.
Recycling Materials, Not Budgets
New gravel and asphalt drain funds—why not reuse what we have? I’ll urge the borough to repurpose old project materials—crushed pavement from a torn-up lot could redo a side street. Same with equipment: fix plows or graders instead of buying new. It’s practical, stretching current dollars to maintain more infrastructure without new taxes.
Why I’m In This—and Why I’m Your Guy
Our infrastructure’s taking a beating—spring washouts, winter ice-ups—and it’s slowing us down. As a conservative, I reject budget binges; I demand results from what’s on the table. My plan—targeting funds, stretching service dollars, reusing resources—fortifies the Peninsula without taxing you more. I’ll keep pushing for efficiency and impact, every step of the way.
If elected, I’ll fight for every infrastructure dollar on the Assembly, listening to you and keeping our borough strong and connected. Vote for me on Oct 7, and let’s upgrade our infrastructure —no new taxes needed.
